We consider Free/Libre/Open-Source/FLOSS to be all kind of different names for the same objects. For definitions, see the FSF's or the OSI's.
Our interest is primarily one of practitioners of libre software, as developpers of libre software, and also packagers for Debian, for instance, but we're also interested in the wider phenomenon, trying to understand how libre software development communities work, the tools, the process, the dynamics, all aspects ranging from software engineering to economics, through sociology and psychology also. Quite an interesting target for research !
We've been part of the CALIBRE project which studied libre software from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
These days we're part of the HELIOS project, which was funded as part of the Libre software thematics of the System@tic french R&D cluster.
